Asahi is a full service Japanese restaurant with teppanaki in addition to regular table service and sushi bar. It is located in the Museum Place Mall directly across the Street from the Peabody Essex Museum. The mall has a parking garage and Asahi validates parking.

The sushi at Asahi was excellent. All of the fish was fresh and the rolls were presented rather creatively. My tuna and avocado roll had a huge piece of tuna in the center and it tasted great. I thought that all the portions were quite generous. Prices at Asahi were excellent. They seemed to be about 15% below other Boston area sushi restaurants.

They had a rather intriguing hot appetizer called Seattle Yaki consisting of giant clam grilled and marinated in Japanese mayonnaise. Unfortunately they were out of it for the evening. I will have to try it on my next trip — I wil definitely return.
